Susan b. anthony was born on february, 15th, 1820 in adams, massachusetts. she was a prominent american civil rights leader and played a significant role in the 19th century women's rights movement to introduce women's suffrage in the united states. in 1869, susan b. anthony and elizabeth cady staton founded the national women suffrage association (nwsa), an organization dedicated to gaining women's suffrage. in the early years of nwsa, there was not much success. However, women from all over the world decided to get involved in this movement. eventually, over 10 000 women joined the nwsa and were united with one another.
elizabeth cady staton was born on november, 12th, 1815 in johnstown, new york. best known for their joint work on behalf of women's suffrage, staton and anthony were president and vice - president of the national women suffrage association. susan b. anthony had the time and energy to do the speaking and traveling that elizabeth cady staton was unable to do. their skills complimented each other; staton, the better writer scripted many of anthony's speeches, while anthony was the movement's organizer and tactician.
